Top 10 Reasons

You’ve heard it over and over…’we need volunteers‘. Without them, races can’t happen. If you haven’t considered getting involved, here are the top 10 reasons why it can be the most fun you’ve had on a Sunday morning…
10. You are up early – so there is no traffic … and you get to witness a beautiful sunrise.
9. Race organizers are very grateful for your help…you will feel needed.
8. You can bring your friends out and do something different together.
7. Runners will thank you, over and over. You’ll feel the love.
6. You can yell encouraging words and cheer on people you don’t know without having to run at all.
5. Watching runners is inspiring, which gives you a little nudge for your own fitness goals.
4. You will get a t-shirt and snacks.
3. Where else can you tell drivers where to go and have them thank you for it?
2. You get to wear a safety vest without doing any construction.
1. You will make new friends, learn how races work, get volunteer hours, feel good about giving back, support an environmentally friendly event, be part of a race if you can’t run it yourself, see that all kinds of people can do this, be amazed by the youngest and oldest runners out there doing it….
Okay – more than ten reasons but you get the idea.
Volunteering is worth getting up for!

Run clubs are welcome to participate and promote themselves at our races. Cheer on your run buddies, put up your tent or flag to mark your gathering spot – and encourage non-runners to volunteer on the course. What better way to give back to your friends and your sport? Join us to volunteer – or race.
